Cleveland State University is a public research university focused on contributing to the region’s growing economy, especially in health care and biomedical areas.
Under the Signature Themes of Health and Sustainable Communities, the three Cleveland State University Centers of Excellence are: Center for Gene Regulation in Health and Disease, Center for 21st Century Health Professions and Next Generation Economy Center. In addition to these, about 30 college-based centers and University centers support interdisciplinary research, both basic and applied, which is central to Cleveland State University’s mission, and is an integral part of graduate and professional education. Cleveland State is expanding its presence in downtown Cleveland, a critical development for the regional economy.
